Product Profile September 2008:
From Formed to Flat ... CHUTES International
With a focus on meeting industry needs, offering exceptional customer service and top quality products, CHUTES International is constantly changing and improving its product line. Starting with a heavy-duty steel chute in 1989, CHUTES focused on providing the new construction industry with a virtually indestructible construction debris chute. The patented 3' x 3' x 12' sections handle just about any type of debris, literally breaking it apart with the baffling system, while its mounting system protects the facade of the building by keeping the chute away from the building's exterior.
As industry focus changed from new construction to renovation, CHUTES introduced a line of lighter weight polyethylene debris chutes. "We designed the DURACHUTE system based on the needs and problems we experience using other chutes on the market," explains Operations Vice President, Sonny Ayres. "CHUTES not only sells trash chutes, but we rent them as well. So we have first hand experience with what works and what doesn't!"
"The chutes are made well," says National Sales Rep, Rich Deary. "In fact, I just received a call from a customer in North Dakota who said he finally had to replace his system - it was 8 years old! That's almost unheard of for a plastic chute."
With a combination of current trends and a special focus on the roofing industry, CHUTES introduces its newest product addition: DURAFLAT. DURAFLAT is a flat chute that integrates easily with the DURACHUTE line of winches, hoppers and accessories.
"It's a cheaper alternative to the more durable formed chute," explains Rich Deary. "Sometimes you just don't need the heavier-duty, longer lasting chute."
DURAFLAT works exceptionally well for roofers, who don't require intermediate hoppers or the "bells and whistles" of a higher cost product. The nice thing, though, is that many of the "bells and whistles" can be added to the flat chute system with the use of the DURACONVERTER, which adapts the 3-chain flat chute section to the 2-chain DURAC"UTE components.
DURAFLAT sections transport and store flat, assemble easily using standard tools and can be used with the DURACHUTE Parapet/Window Outrigger or Flat Roof Outrigger, depending on job site requirements. Top hoppers, lifting winches (80' or 150'), safety Frames and other accessories are also available. "This system, like all CHUTES products, is designed with safety in mind. Our chains are proof tested," informs Sonny Ayres. "And, unlike most systems that max out at 80 feet, we can reach heights up to 150 feet with a safety factor of 6:1."
