Sno-Gem, Inc. was incorporated in 1994 by Michael Smeja & George Smeja of McHenry, Ill. George Smeja started as a coppersmith having learned from the "old world" craftsman. After gaining years of on-the-roof experience, George took on the challenge of starting his own architectural sheet-metal contracting company. With creativity, attention to detail, industry knowledge and commitment to succeed, George Smeja and his family have successfully been in the business of installing metal roofs for over 25 years. Sno-Gem currently utilizes multiple snow guard designs and applications for all roof systems.

THE Sno-Barricade
Sno-Gem, Inc. introduces a new snow bar/fence system, the Sno-Barricade. Aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-install,and economical, Sno-Barricade is extremely durable and available in a mill finish or any standard/custom colors.

The Sno-Barricade clamp-to-the-seam system is designed for new or existing roof systems and fits all standard and most custom standing-seam profiles.

The Gem Clamp grips tight to the seam, yet there is no penetration and the original manufacturer's integrity is maintained. The system is available in any standard or custom color.

Polycarbonate Sno-Gems (Original & Jr)
Manufactured from virgin-grade UVstabilized polycarbonate, the unique design of theses crystal-like models suspends the field of snow and ice until it gradually melts. Sno-Gem offers two models, Original and Jr., both available in clear or any standard/custom colors. The polycarbonate is mold-injected, making it color-fast to the core. This allows the Sno-Gems to retain their crisp, clean color without fading or chipping.

Installation of the two polycarbonate models can be done by using SB-190 tube adhesive or the 3M Tape Application, both non-penetrating installations. Mechanical-fastening is also an option and this method allows for stability and security where the non-penetrating application might not be suitable.

Metal Sno-Gems (Half-Carat & Original Metal)
The Original Metal & Half-Carat Sno-Gems can be manufactured in any metal form, including but not limited to copper, stainless steel, galvalume, pre-finished aluminum/steel, TCS/terne metal, lead-coated copper and zinc. These Sno-Gems are designed for applications on copper, slate, asphalt shingles and metal roof systems.
