Eagle Roofing Products Receives Class 4
RIALTO, Calif. -- Eagle Roofing Products, a division of Burlingame Industries, is pleased to announce it has received the highest hail resistance certification from Architectural Testing, a nationally recognized independent testing company. In achieving the exemplary rating, Eagle customers now qualify for home insurance discounts from State Farm Insurance.
The high rating is the result of exceeding performance evaluations in Architectural Testing's Roof Covering Impact Certification Program. The program is designed to provide a manufacturer with the opportunity to certify that its roof covering materials meet the industry requirements of the FM 4473 standard.
"A homeowner's roof is one of the most vulnerable components of their property, often times receiving significant damage while protecting its inhabitants from natural elements and outside forces," said Kevin Burlingame, President of Burlingame Industries. "Achieving this high rating for our tile assures builders and homeowners of Eagle products' durability and high performance in extreme weather conditions. This assurance of protection can significantly reduce the need for costly repairs or replacement."
Stringently followed laboratory test methods use spherical-shaped ice balls (FM 4473) to simulate real world impacts that a roof receives in a hail storm. The resulting test methods provide performance benchmarks that indicate the material's resistance to these natural impacts. The roof materials are then evaluated for damage and given a ranking using a classification scale from 1 to 4, with a Class 4 indicating the best possible rating and performance protection.
Eagle's roof tile products received a Class 4 rating for all flat tile profiles manufactured in its Phoenix, Arizona plant. Profiles in this category include Bel Air, Estate, Ponderosa, Golden Eagle and Double Eagle tiles. The company's Capistrano and Malibu profile tiles earned an equally impressive Class 3 rating for its impact resistance.
