Russell Roofing Honored with NRCA Gold Circle Award

Philadelphia, Pa. - Russell Roofing, the region's leading residential and commercial roofing service contractor, recently announced that they have been awarded a 2009 Gold Circle Award Honorable Mention for Outstanding Workmanship: Steep Category from the National Roofing Contractor's Association (NRCA).

Russell Roofing received the award for installing a roof and gutter system for Keystone Hospice. The project, which also included extensive carpentry work, was a complete restoration of this 142 year-old Victorian mansion. The residence offers a place where terminally ill patients can live out their days in a comfortable, home-like environment, surrounded by family and friends.

Prior to its use by Keystone Hospice, the building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, had been neglected for over 75 years and was severely deteriorated. Russell Roofing installed a complete roof and gutter system, which involved the removal of several kinds of steep slope including slate and asphalt shingles. Russell Roofing then fabricated complex copper, which was installed over flashings, window wells, gutters and downspouts. All work was completed during winter months while Keystone Hospice was fully staffed and operational.
