RCASoCal is Currently Looking for Volunteers for Their Annual Project Reroof 2009

The Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California (RCASoCal) is currently looking for volunteers for their Annual Project Reroof 2009. Thanks to special donations from Structural Materials, Malarkey Roofing Products, Roofmaster, Roofers Mart, Henry Company and Chapman Coast Roof. RCASoCal has all the materials it needs to complete the projects. Additionally Martha Richter or San Marino Roof has donated her time to act as project coordinator.

The schedule for the project is as follows (weather permitting):

  • Thursday, February 26, 2009 - Demo/resheeting will be performed by Honeycutt & BT Sheet Metal
  • Friday, February 27, 2009 - City Inspection
  • Saturday, February 28, 2009 - Installation of roof will be performed by Eberhard and San Marino Roof

Six more women or men are needed to install the roof on Saturday.

This year RCASoCal is reroofing The Ashland House in Laguna Hills California. The existing roof consists of one (1) layer of wood shakes over part plywood and part spaced sheathing - 32 squares, 4/12 pitch. The Ashland Home is celebrating ten years of success this year.  Ashland was started because there were few places for women with no money and no insurance to go for detoxification from alcohol and to begin their journey in recovery.

The purpose of the Ashland Home is to provide a safe and caring environment for women to get sober and build a foundation for recovery. They are currently in the process of renovating a "not for profit" sober living home offering more Ashland Alumni the opportunity to move to an affordable sober environment after thirty days at Ashland.

Please call 714-630-7000 if you would like to volunteer on February 28, 2009.
