DaVinci Offers Synthetic Machine-Sawn Shingle
KANSAS CITY, Kan., July 23, 2008 - DaVinci Roofscapes(R) today announced a brand new option for synthetic cedar shake roofing customers. Introduced just this month, DaVinci's Fancy Shake roofing shingles provide a machine-sawn cedar look, which delivers a more refined appearance than a traditional hand-split cedar shingle.
Machine-sawn shake, a popular style of shingle installed on many homes in the late 1800s, was smooth and flat on both sides, but featured characteristic saw marks. This classic look is perfect for contemporary housing, and also makes DaVinci's Fancy Shake an attractive option for restoration or historic projects, according to Ray Rosewall, chief executive officer, DaVinci Roofscapes.
"Our new Fancy Shake is a pristine shingle, with the clean, antique machine-sawn style that's often seen on homes in the New England states," Rosewall said. "Fancy Shake is a unique product in this market - DaVinci is the only company to provide a synthetic version of this style of shingle."
Fancy Shake is available in four DaVinci Shake color blends: Autumn, Mountain, Tahoe and Weathered Gray. Fancy Shake offers a natural cedar look, but with the durability and ease of installation provided by a synthetic shingle. The shingle, which is available in three widths (5-inch, 7-inch and 12-inch), provides outstanding versatility that lends itself to multiple building applications - it can even be installed as siding, Rosewall said.
