Tremco Roofing Professionals Earn Registered Roof Consultant Credential

Beachwood, Ohio - Philip Harper, PE (Registered Professional Engineer), and Jim Lohmann, senior sales representatives for Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance, recently earned the title of Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) from RCI Incorporated. They were registered as RRCs after successfully completing a rigorous, two-part program consisting of an application process and a daylong examination. The application process qualifies the individual's field experience and industry education, while the exam tests both knowledge and problem-solving skills. Harper and Lohmann join an elite group of Registered Roof Consultants in the U.S. and Canada who incorporate the industry's highest standards in the specification, design and construction of roofing systems.

A nine-year employee of Tremco, Harper supports eastern South Carolina, including metro Charleston and Columbia, and greater Augusta and Savannah, Georgia. Actively involved in the roofing industry, he is a member of RCI, Society of Military Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

A 23-year employee of Tremco, Lohmann supports North Georgia and surrounding areas, including metro Atlanta. As a roofing industry leader, he is the current membership chair of the Atlanta RCI chapter; past president of the Association for Facility Engineering; a member of the Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI), where he earned CSI professional qualification as a Construction Documents Technologist; and a Registered Roof Observer through RCI. Lohmann also recently received recognition as an Accredited Green Roof Professional through the Green Roofs for Healthy Cities organization.

The RRC program is administered by RCI from its international headquarters in Raleigh, NC. The program's goals of promoting the highest standards of building performance through industry expertise, ethical conduct and continuing education for its registrants are rapidly gaining recognition throughout North America.

RCI was founded in 1983 as a 501(c) (6) nonprofit organization. Its professional members offer unbiased design, repair planning, quality assurance, legal testimony and general roofing, weatherproofing and building envelope services. RCI's Registered Roof Consultants adhere to a strict code of ethics that ensures building owners are advised without prejudice throughout the design and construction process.
