RCI Announces the RRC Exam Revision Completed
This letter from RCI President John Willers announces the revision of the Registered Roof Consulant Exam
Dear RCI Members and Friends,
I am very pleased to announce that the revision of the Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) Exam has been completed. An impressive group of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), facilitated by exam development consultant Robert Pixton, worked diligently during 2008 in a series of four intense workshops to develop the new exam.
The revision process was administered in compliance with the Standard for the Accreditation of Certification Programs as published by the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA) to ensure exam defensibility, validity and reliability.
The new version of the RRC exam will be offered for the first time on March 13, 2009 during the RCI International Convention and Trade Show in Dallas. It will be administered in two parts, each 2.75 hours long. Part One includes questions on the following topics: ethics, roof condition surveys, audits or investigations, communication, testing, codes and standards, materials, construction documents, bid phase, and construction phase. Part Two covers design questions.
The deadline to apply for this exam is January 13, 2009 (no late fees apply). No applications for this test administration will be accepted after this date. Contact the RCI office or refer to the Website for an application. A new study guide will be available January 13, 2009.
In addition to rolling out this newest version of the examination at the 2009 convention, the earlier version of the examination will be made available at both the 2009 and 2010 conventions, as well as at all other RRC exams scheduled during 2009, to those who originally took the earlier version and need to retest one part only. Subsequent to the 2010 convention, only the newest version of the examination will be available.
I extend my appreciation on behalf of RCI to the SMEs for their commitment and contributions to the success of this revision.
Please contact Micki Kamszik with any questions.
Sincerely,
John L. Willers, FRCI, RRC, PE
President
