WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Jan. 5, 2009 - A dozen ABC Supply Co. Inc. Solution Centers in Wisconsin "major suppliers of roofing, siding, windows and other select exterior building products for area contractors" have recently been redesigned. They are now premier destinations for product information and selection for contractors and their clients.
The stores are located in Baraboo (E10620 Highway 33), Burlington (681 S. Kane St.), Chippewa Falls (2642 Hallie Road), Fond du Lac (815 S. Pioneer Road), Green Bay (633 N. Military Ave.), Hartland (550 S. Industrial Drive), Jackson (W194 N16660 Eagle Drive), Kenosha (5814 77th Street), Madison (1002 Ann St.), Neenah (685 Watermark Court), Wausau (102 Fulton St.) and West Allis (11111 W. Lapham St.).
The reconfigured Solution Centers feature an innovative use of a specially designed "wing panel" system that literally puts information at customers' fingertips. Visitors can quickly understand key features and benefits and make comparisons among different product lines and different manufacturers' offerings.
The Solution Centers also incorporate a storage system that organizes product sample boards so contractors can quickly find and take with them the samples they need to assist their customers with product selection outside the Solution Centers.
ABC Supply stores nationwide are being updated with this new design as part of the company's commitment to providing world-class service, explained district manager Jeff Ploch.
"We've always offered a wider range of products and services than we have been able to adequately display, and this new Solution Center design system allows us to display a lot of product in a relatively small space," he said.
"Many of the features of the redesigned Solution Centers are the result of feedback from contractors who were looking for better ways to educate themselves, their employees and their customers about the options available to them," Ploch added.
"Homeowners want to see their options, but many contractors find it's not feasible to have their own Solution Center," he explained. "Our Solution Centers fill that need. They are tools for professionals; comfortable, welcoming places they can bring their clients. We want our customers to feel our Solution Centers are their showrooms."
They also are educational resources for contractors, helping keep them up-to-date on the latest new products.
Ploch emphasized that the new store design does not change ABC Supply's basic mission, which focuses exclusively on serving professional contractors. The stores will not cater to do-it-yourselfers and will continue to carry the hard-to-find specialty tools and supplies contractors need.
